is it possible to connect my pc to my laptop so i can transfer a large amount of files without having to use a storage device first? if so can anyone please give me the instructions on how to do this as i am not very good with computers and i am struggling.
both the laptop and computer are connected to the same modem... if thats any help|||Usually if you are transferring files from one computer to another you need to have network adapters on both computers/laptops. Also a router and two ordinary network cables. Or you could try the easier method and get a crossover cable. If you don麓t have network adapters on your computers/laptops then you need a serial cable to do a direct connection. But I strongly suggest the first option as with a direct cable connection it will take forever to transfer files in large amounts. Networks are the way forward my friend. Hope this was helpful!|||you can connect via internet, but more secure and better if you just get cable same as for internet,, but it must be crossover.
about 10$ in radioshak
after that just connect them with that cable and open My Network and connect to each other.|||You can use a USB to USB cable. there's one designed for connecting 2 pc via the USB interface. You can also use Bluetooth or LAN to LAN. Just buy a 10baseT Crossed cable for PC to PC (without a hub) connection.|||Go to wall mart and go back to the Computer Section
and buy a file transfer device using usb to usb or you can get a external HD and dumb all The file on thier|||you need a cross over ethernet cable around 10 gbp and goto control panel and then network wizard if on xp it will talk you through|||You could connect using a usb data cable. or you could copy the files to a cd and do it that way, The way I would do it is buy myself an external hd. copy the files to that and transfer them to the laptop
