I have a large amount (relatively speaking) of money on a debit card, given to me by the unemployment services when I was unemployed several months ago. Is there a way to easily transfer the money from the debit card to my checking account?
One way I can do this is to withdraw some cash everyday, then deposit the money to my checking. But this is inconvenient and would have to be done over several weeks. There has to be an easier way. I never really use debit, as all my purchases and expenses are paid via my credit card.|||You should be able to accomplish this. Take the debit card to your bank. They should be able to process a "Cash Advance" on the debit card. They would then be able to deposit the funds into your checking account. The card issuer may charge a fee for this. If in doubt, a call to the 1-800 number on the back of the debit card should provide clarification.
