Do you need a certain amount of credits to transfer colleges?

im not in school right now and im going to niu next semester

im only going there for a semester and im planning on transferring to lsu next year

but when i enter lsu i still want to be considered a freshman,

so i dont want to take that many classes at niu, but i want to be able to transfer them

does it matter how many i have? they are just gonna be gen eds|||You cannot be considered an entering freshman if you have any college credits except those earned concurrently in high school.

LSU requires a minimum of 30 credits to transfer.

You must report with your application all earned credits and credits in the process of being earned.

So you might be better off not going to NIU if you currently have no college credits.|||It depends on the school, so check LSU's website.|||If you are taking college classes at a college NIU, even for one semester, you are going to be a transfer student into any other college. Look on the ISU web site to see the requirements for transfer students. Some allow you to transfer in with as little as 12 college credits, some want more. You need to call up ISU and talk to the admission office.
