She wanted me to contact her lawyer etc to process the transferring, but I was afraid becos everybody told me that it might be a scam, and I didn.t know how she got the money either for she is totally stranger to me. I knew her in a kind of network like dada.net. How do you think guys? have you experienced any kind of this? pls share your opinion thanx|||it's a scam - they will send you counterfeit money orders - just delete the email|||"Might" be a scam?

International money transfers are highly regulated. Even in-country transfers are regulated beyond a specific amount. ($10,000 in the U.S.)

Someone who holds millions of dollars can't afford a lawyer to handle their affairs, but somehow can find an unknown stranger in another country who, interestingly without any legal expertise at all, can solve all their problems?|||THIS IS A SCAM! This scam is known by many names...the grieving widow scam, 419 scam, nigerian scam.

They will do 1 of two things...they will either get your banking info and take all your money, or the more likely senario is they will ask you for money to facilitate the transfering of the money and then give you a cut of the proceeds once they get the money out of the country.

You will Western Union the money to her (which to be honest is probably not a her at all) and you will either never see the money or you will get a counterfite, forged, fraudlent check in return. By the time you find out from your bank that the check isn't any good (b/c the longest hold a bank can put on a check is 11 days and it takes 14 to 21 days for the check to be returned as no good) most people have already spent all of the money they recieved because they assume because the bank is required by law to release the funds that the check cleared and the check was good. When they find out the funds were no good they are out the money they sent to the widower and they are out the money that they recieved...the bank will usually help you by refunding a few fees that they charge, but they can't do much more than that.

DO NOT GET INVOLVED IN THIS SCAM! They will bleed you dry very quickly. The longer you stay in contact the more danger you are in. Usually they start out by asking you to wire a very nominal amount and they gradually start growing from there. People with soft hearts are so vunerable to these types of scams and people with empty wallets are vunerable too because they see this as an easy way to get a little money.
